Ghanaian crooner and entrepreneur Afua Asantewaa Aduonum is seeking to break the Guinness World Record for the longest crooning marathon by an artist.

She will be performing non-stop from December 24 to 27 in Accra, Ghana. Her application to attempt the record was accepted by Guinness World Records, and she aims to sing for more than 117 hours continuously, surpassing the current record holder Sunil Waghmare of India.
Asantewaa’s endeavour is concentrated on pushing Ghanaian music worldwide, exhibiting various genres such as gospel, highlife, and hiplife. In order to accomplish this goal, she must sing over 3,200 Ghanaian songs without any repetition, while following the strict guidelines set by Guinness World Records. The task of performing each song within a two-minute period is a challenging and grueling one.
Sunil Waghmare, currently the record holder, managed to sing a diverse selection of popular Indian songs without repetition in Nagpur, India, from March 3 to 7, 2012, and achieved the feat. Asantewaa aims to break this record and gain recognition for Ghanaian music on a worldwide scale.

Asantewaa has requested her supporters to join her in the Accra marathon singing event.
