Nigerian Sensational Afrobeat superstar, Davido’s new project sets a first-day streaming record.

The “Jowo” hitmaker is arguably one of Africa’s most successful musicians.

Davido has established a new record on Apple Music with his fresh album Timeless.

The project has had the most first-day streams ever for an African album, the music streaming service mentioned in a social media update.

The seventeen-track album was officially dropped on 31 March and is the artist’s fourth studio album since he went into this craft 11 years ago. The title, he indicated, is an indication of his purpose for the album to stay classic for decades. “I know in years to come, if you interview me, we are still going to be talking about this album,” he recently spewed to CNN’s Larry Madowo in Lagos, Nigeria.

The album has already shattered the record for the massive debut week on Spotify Nigeria and the greatest first-day streams via Boomplay.

“Timeless” has multiple guest appearances comprising British Nigerian rapper Skepta, Grammy award-winning crooner-songwriter Angélique Kidjo and Jamaican entertainer Dexta Daps.
