Enterprising Ghanaian gospel music singer, Pastor Nana Yaw Boakye, better known in showbiz circles as MOGmusic, is now a member of the Recording Academy of the Grammy Awards.
MOGmusic comes to be the first Ghanaian Gospel Artiste from Ghana to be let into the Recording Academy following the authorization of his application by the Grammy Board.
Uttering on his entry into the Recording Academy membership, MOGmusic uttered that he was gladdened at the news expressing it is like a dream come true.
“This is the pinnacle every musician wishes to get to,” he said. “I am glad to be putting Ghana on the map once again.”
The ‘Mala’ hitmaker proceeded and noted that his entrance into the academy is an inspiration for him to do more as a gospel performer.
The two-time VGMA Male Vocal Performance victor earlier this year took his music career to a whole new pedestal when he unveiled his latest project titled, ‘Koinonia Phase II.’
The award-winning, globally acknowledged gospel artiste’s album constructs on the earlier Koinonia Phase I album, unveiled last year which sanctified the industry worldwide with hit tunes like Grace, Mala, Your Presence, Almighty God, Choral Praise, Glory to the Lamb and There’s Power.
However, the new project shows off eight tunes with features from ace gospel performer Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Pastor Kojo Frimpong, Ps Shadrack Mensah Kwesi, Joey Saff and Kobby Salm.
The tunes comprise, Nyankopong, Glorious, Holy Chant, We Cry Yahweh ft. Pastor Kojo Frimpong, Be Lifted Medley ft. Donnie McClurkin, Covenant Keeper, Yesu ft. Joey Saff and Kobby Salm, and African Praise ft. Ps Shadrack Mensah Kwesi.
MOG has dropped several tunes, comprising the award-winning Be Lifted, Elohim, Living God, and many more.
Additionally, being a crooner and tunesmith for the gospel music terrain, MOG doubles as a cleric at the Royalhouse Chapel International (Ahenfie).
