Ghanaian movie star Yvonne Nelson has appealed to rapper Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie to display respect for femininity.
Sarkodie in a tune he dropped in the early hours of Wednesday, June 28, responded to claims Yvonne Nelson made against him in her recently released memoir โI am not Yvonne Nelson.โ
In the memoir, she disclosed having had a romance with the rapper in 2010 which resulted in a pregnancy.
In Chapter 8 of the book, she narrates her decision to abort the pregnancy because the rapper did not accept responsibility, expatiating that later she found out the rapper had another lady who was studying at a university abroad thus his rejection.
However, responding to Yvonne Nelsonโs allegation, the ‘JAMZ’ rapper in his new release โTry Meโ, a straightforward response to Yvonne, expresses he never urged the actress to have an abortion.
According to him, while he was not ready to be a father, he had told her to keep the pregnancy but Yvonne chose to go ahead with the abortion because she was schooling.
โSo donโt you make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion,โ he said in Try Me and advised Yvonne Nelson not to play the victim and create the impression that she was looking for love.
โBaby girl make you no try meโ, he warned.
But the response does not seem to have gone down well with the ‘Men We Love’ moviemaker.
Ms Nelson has made a reply to Sarkodie and in a tweet has advised the rapper to come clean on the matter.
In an explicit response to Sarkodieโs claim that her book was selling because of the negativity it depicts, Yvonne also sounds off in a tweet that Sarkodieโs ‘Try Me’ is a good rap but does not change the real truths of the issue.
โInsults won’t work Michael. Respect womanhood, Iโm happy the world gets to see how you are playing this and the real you. Young women get to learn from this.
โYou would get the applause for a rap still doesnโt change the TRUTH,โ the outspoken creative tweeted.
