Jordin Sparks: Rejection, Rebound & Reign

Adorable American songstress Jordin Sparks granted an interview to TV3โ€™s Berla Mundi in her residence in Pasadena, USA, some days ago. 

According to the ‘No Air’ hitmaker, her first American Idol audition was a miss, but she didnโ€™t lose hope. Jordin Sparks communicated how believing that a no from the judges did not mean she could never pipe brought a much greater victory.

Jordin Sparks also revealed that she auditioned for season 6 of American Idol at 16 years and became one of the youthful contestants to make it to the top 24. She then progressed to the top 12 after standout performances, earning acclaim from the judges and audience. She began again to impress and finally won the competition, becoming the youngest winner in the showโ€™s history โ€“ till date. Sparksโ€™ journey on American Idol established her successful career in the music industry.

She also disclosed that she was denied when she went for her first American Idol audition.

Quoting her exact submissions, she uttered, โ€œObviously, I wanted to make it, but I wasnโ€™t disappointed to the fact that I thought I was never going to sing or anything like that. I was the youngest you could be at that time to audition. So I was like, I can get to audition next year. So Iโ€™m going to keep signing.โ€

Further, touching on alignment and working with Alicia Keys, Jordin Sparks mentioned that, โ€œ โ€ฆThe timing must always be right. That is one thing I believe in. Whatโ€™s meant for me will never miss me, and timing is everything. So if it wasnโ€™t supposed to happen then, itโ€™s going to happen now.โ€

Thereon winning American Idol in 2007, Jordin Sparks dropped her debut album, a Grammy nomination. She has since released several more albums, starred in movies, and featured on numerous television shows.

Aside her entertainment career, Jordin Sparks has touched so many lives with her philanthropic works. She has helped different charitable organizations, including the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America and the Red Cross.

Ms Sparks walked down the aisle with Dana Isaiah in 2017 and the couple is blessed with a son. 

She accidentally met Ghanaian Afro-Dancehall act, Stonebwoy recently in the United States, and the two talents are reportedly in the studio cooking up new songs for their fans.
