Running through cuts like the Fugees‘ 1996 single, “Ready or Not,” which saw her switching the lyrics in a show of homage to her alma mater, as well as her emotive Miseducation of Lauryn Hill ballad, “Ex-Factor,” Ms. Lauryn Hill basked in the moment, resulting in a carefree performance that rivals some of her concerts.

Footage of Hill’s medley comes weeks after the singer addressed the cancellation of her and the Fugees’ upcoming U.S. tour dates, which the Grammy Award winner attributes to low ticket sales spurred by a negative “narrative” formed and spread by “the media.”

“Last year, I faced an injury that necessitated the rescheduling of some of my shows,” Hill wrote, referencing her damaged vocal cords. “Regrettably, some media outlet’s penchant for sensationalism and clickbait headlines have seemingly created a narrative that has affected ticket sales for the North American portion of the tour.”

The songstress continued, adding, “The trust and faith I have in my intentions and my commitment to my art seem to have been overshadowed by this unfortunate portrayal.”
