Cash Money’s B.G. will soon be set free from jail after serving more than a decade of incarceration.
The Jasmine Brand disclosed that the rapper is set to be freed from lockup for his โprobationary periodโ and could be home as soon as this week. Birthed Christopher Dorsey, B.G. was apprehended in 2009 following a traffic stop in New Orleans, during which police found three guns, two of which were stolen.
In 2011, the Hot Boys member pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice, receiving a 14-year federal jail sentence the following year, with three years of federal supervised release.

The rapper had earlier attempted to gain compassionate release from jail during the COVID-19 pandemic but was repudiated three times. According to U.S. District Judge Susie Morgan, she โdid not find any gross neglect that affected the outcomeโ of the 42-year-oldโs motion.
Birdman also wrote a letter in an endeavour to convince the judge that B.G. could have a positive influence on society and had turned over a new leaf during his jail term. โHe is not only a generational artist, but heโs got a platform and the chance to share his experience to better todayโs young men who need to hear what heโs got to say,โ the Cash Money Records founder wrote. โWhen he is released, I know he will give back and use what heโs gone through to help as many people as possible.โ
