R&B vocalist Cassie has disclosed that she and her one-time lover, Diddy have come to an agreement, settling their sexual assault case just one day after it started trending on traditional and social media space.

The New York Post disclosed that the decision to settle the issue behind closed doors was agreed upon on Friday (November 17) โ€” just a day after the โ€œOfficial girlโ€ croonerโ€™s lawsuit was filed in Manhattan federal court.

โ€œI have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,โ€ Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) said in a statement (via the Post). โ€œI want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.โ€

Diddy (government name Sean Combs) shared his own communique, in which he clarified the one-time couple had come to an agreement amicably.

โ€œWe have decided to resolve this matter amicably,โ€ he said. โ€œI wish Cassie and her family all the best.โ€

Details about the settlement have not been made public.

Cassie’s original lawsuit, which was filed on Thursday (November 16), asserted that Diddy abused her physically and emotionally throughout their roughly decade-long relationship.

In her complaint, she claimed that Diddy beat her ‘multiple times a year’, gave her ‘copious amounts’ of drugs, and forced her to have sex with male prostitutes while he was filmed and masturbated during the encounters.

According to the singer, the 54-year-old record executive forced his way into her apartment in 2018 and sexually assaulted her while she repeatedly said ‘no’ and tried to push him away.

The Bad Boy Entertainment bankroller was also purported to have masterminded a plot to blow up Kid Cudiโ€˜s vehicle in 2012 after he found out that Cassie was going out with the โ€œDay โ€˜Nโ€™ Niteโ€ rapper. A rep for Cudi confirmed to The New York Times that one of his cars exploded in his driveway.

The singer’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, stated that Diddy tried to silence her and prevent the lawsuit from being filed by offering her eight figures, but Ms. Ventura declined his efforts.

Diddy and a few of his associates were named as defendants in the suit, which was seeking unspecified damages.

In a statement released by his lawyer Ben Brafman on Thursday, Diddy denied all the allegations.

โ€œMr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,โ€ the statement began. โ€œFor the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Venturaโ€™s persistent demand of $30million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.

โ€œDespite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combsโ€™s reputation and seeking a payday.โ€
