Meek Mill has queries for his hometown after a youngster was found brutally killed. The Dream Chaser records boss took to social media to share his opinions along with a report stating the mortal remains of a 12-year-old shot and murdered were found in a Philadelphia dumping site.
“They playing so ruthless in Philly,” wrote the Dreams And Nightmares performer on Instagram on Thursday (Aug. 31) afternoon. “The self-hatred level on 1000 degrees with Blacks… and it’s only getting [worse].”
A second slide elaborates, “They need to let us fight this sh*t back…me and the old heads can clear some of this sh*t up…we need the jails behind us too so it’s no escaping! The wrong women or child gets killed I don’t think we will be able to turn back..”
“Can Black people still come together besides a rap concert or sports? We looking terrible,” concluded the reflection.
The tragic offence disseminated by the “Dreams And Nightmares” rapper involved a Housing Authority sanitation worker discovering the sufferer’s mortal remains on the west side of the city according to ABC News. Identified as Hezekiah Bernard, at the time of his demise, the preteen was in detention at the city’s Department of Human Services.
“We need the help of the public to identify the offenders in this investigation,” pleaded staff inspector Ernest Ransom, head of the police department’s homicide unit. “The focus of this investigation is the swift apprehension of those involved in this senseless death.”
Meanwhile, records from the Office of the Controller indicate that of the 289 killings perpetrated in Philadelphia so far this year, at least 15 of the targets were under the age of 18. Also, at least 960 individuals this year in Philadelphia have endured gunshot injuries.
