Queens rap legend Nas has laid to sleep the ancient saying that Hip-Hop is solely a youthful entertainer’s forte. The god’s son MC has released five albums in the last three years with super-talented producer Hit-Boy. Three volumes of King’s Disease and two instalments of Magic have not only kept Nas active but dispelled the idea that geriatric MCs should hang up the mic and pen.
Those five projects have also firmed up Hit-Boy as a prolific producer and many enthusiasts see real chemistry in the duo.
Word emanating from All Hip Hop, Nas is working on new music and has secured a new crew of producers for his upcoming album.
“Sources have heard this new music and say it is amazing,” the report indicated. This information arrived after an online conversation that fans would like to hear Nas with different productions. Nas just dropped the video for “Black Magic” from his latest Hit-Boy partnership Magic 2.
Esco’s five-year run with Hit-Boy is remarkable in Hip-Hop. In a conversation with Vanity Fair, Nas documented the tremendous run he’s been on with Hit-Boy for the past few years.
“Iโm in one of these creative growth spurts,” he said. “Itโs something that I’m excited about and it surprises me โ but I’m not too, too surprised because I was also waiting for the day that I felt like this again, and I knew it would come.”
Meanwhile, after obtaining 13 nominations, Nas’ twelfth studio album, 2020’s King’s Disease, bested him in his first Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
