Levi Strauss Company, otherwise known as Levi’s is celebrating their 150th anniversary. In their chapter of celebrations, the famed denim company has released a series of video’s to commemorate their milestone. Featured prominently on their YouTube channel is their homage to ‘One Influential Island in the Greatest Story Ever Worn.’ If you are thinking the ‘influential’ island is Jamaica, you are correct!
Described as ‘the true story of some very precious cargo. Of fishermen importing 501® jeans to the docks of Kingston in the ‘70s, and Jamaicans exporting their style back to the world by the metric ton,’ the caption concludes that this is ‘the greatest story ever worn.’
Featured in the ad are the faces of Reggae greats Jesse Royal, and the group No Maddz. The sonic add to the ‘ad’ is the everlasting voice of Toots and The Maytals and the classic hit ’54-46 Was My Number.’
