Undoubtedly, it was a difficult and emotional week for the Hip-Hop community around the world especially in South Africa, those in the entertainment space after the sudden demise of rapper AKA was reported.
Born government name Kiernan Forbes, AKA was finally interred on Saturday, February 18, in a private funeral ceremony at Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg.
As numerous of music fans were in shock for the whole week struggling to come to terms with the unfortunate news. AKA was gunned down and killed in Durban last Friday evening, February 6, together with his friend Tebello Motsoane, just outside Florida Road’s Wish restaurant.
His memorial service was held at the iconic Sandton Convention Centre on Friday, February 16, which witnessed bigwigs in the SA entertainment enterprise coming together to mourn the rapper.
Taking a glance at some of the pictures and footage, grievers can be seen at the cemetery coupled with visuals of the body of the rapper’s body being lowered in his final resting place.
Meanwhile, the photo shots also show his family and father, Tony, watching with tears as he bid his eldest son his final goodbye.
