Nas & Lil Wayne Collab On ‘MAGIC 3’ As Tracklist Is Out

Nas has disseminated the tracklisting of his last album with Hit-Boy and it has only one guest mic-burner, albeit a favourably significant one: Lil Wayne.

Magic 3 will be the conclusive instalment of the tandem’s six-album, two-trilogy run that brought in two Grammy nominations and one win for Best Rap Album in 2021.

The project is set to drop on Friday (September 15) — a day after the Queens rapper turns 50 — and is made up of 15 songs, among which is a cut titled “Never Die.” This will mark Nas and Wayne’s third crossover, and the first time only the two of them will rap on a record together.

The two hip-hop icons first worked together on Nas and Damian Marley’s 2010 album, Distant Relatives, which featured the Young Money magnate and vocalist Joss Stone on the tune, “My Generation.”

The subsequent year saw the Mass Appeal records co-founder appearing on the “Outro” of Weezy’s Tha Carter IV alongside Bun B, Busta Rhymes and Shyne.

In 2016, during a chat with REVOLT’s Andre Harrell, the Illmatic MC referred to the current state of Hip Hop and even disclosed his favourite rappers of the genre at the time: Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Rick Ross and, of course, Lil Wayne.

Esco and Tunechi’s affection for one another goes way back. To have them hit the studio to work together once again is a delight to hip-hop fans, particularly since it will be a part of the 50-year-old rap-enterpreneur’s last hurrah in laying one of his more prolific phases to respite.
