Nicki Minaj To Host & Grace MTV-VMAs Stage Tonight

The MTV Video Music Awards announced on Friday that Nicki Minaj will perform at the 2023 award event.

The Queens rapper will also host the show, set to air live from New Jerseyโ€™s Prudential Center on Tuesday, September 12, as she did in last year.

The Pink Friday rapper and last yearโ€™s winner of the coveted Video Vanguard Award will grace the stage with her latest single โ€œLast Time I Saw You,โ€ which dropped in late August, live for the first time.

Nicki has made VMA record in the past with iconic performances of her hits like โ€œAnacondaโ€ and by teaming up with associate megastars including Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, among others.

The Super Bass artist has six Moon Person nods to her name this year.

She is nominated for best hip-hop, best visual effects and video of the year for โ€œSuper Freaky Girl,โ€ best R&B for her collaboration with Yung Bleu, โ€œLove in the Way,โ€ song of the summer for โ€œBarbie Worldโ€ with Ice Spice and even the top prize artist of the year.

The rapper proceeds to have a big year, having recently proclaimed her fifth studio album Pink Friday 2 and chipping in the hit song โ€œBarbie Worldโ€ to the Barbie movie soundtrack earlier this summer.

The highly anticipated, upcoming release will be her first album since 2018โ€™s Queen and is due out November 17.

The 25-time VMA-nominated emcee joins a stacked slate of formerly disclosed entertainers including Anitta, Demi Lovato, Doja Cat, Karol G, Kelsea Ballerini, Lil Wayne, Mรฅneskin, Olivia Rodrigo and Stray Kids.

Media mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Shakira, who are being honoured with the Global Icon Award and Video Vanguard Award, respectively, will also bless the mic.

The โ€œYoung Money โ€ artist offered her Barbz fanbase an update about her new album in late June, disclosing its name that refers to her breakthrough 2010 debut album.

โ€œDear Barbz, Iโ€™ve been trying to find the right time to tell you this for a few days. Due to some really exciting news that Iโ€™ll share with you guys @ a later time, Iโ€™ve shifted the album date just a tad bit,โ€ the Grammy nominee wrote in a statement on social media.

โ€œTrust me, itโ€™ll be WELL WORTH THE WAITโ€ฆbut since I AM shifting the date just a tad, Iโ€™d like to give you guys a tiny SIP of some more album tea so that I donโ€™t have to get cussed out soโ€ฆhere it goes: MY NEW ALBUM WILL BE RELEASED ON 11.17.23- and she shall be called: #PinkFriday2.โ€

She furthered, โ€œI love you guys so much. I am so grateful for the years of support & love you guys have given me. At times maybe I didnโ€™t even deserve all that you have poured into me. Nonetheless, you. will. love. this. album. I will give tour deets closer to that time, but, the tour will start around the first quarter of 2024. Iโ€™ll also share the REAL album cover at a later date.โ€

The โ€œMoment for Lifeโ€ rapper revealed the official album artwork via Instagram on Tuesday, momentarily after dropping her single โ€œLast Time I Saw Youโ€ some few weeks ago.
