Nigerian superstar troubadour born Ayodeji Balogun but known in entertainment spheres as Wizkid has lost his mother.

Wizkid’s mommy, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, passed away at around 1.30 am, Friday dawn.

Though the whiz Nigerian vocalist-songwriter has not come out to confirm or disseminated any official statement on the unfortunate happening, a report from Sunday Aare, Wizkid’s longtime manager said Mrs Balogun passed in the early hours of Friday, August 18.

Tellingly, the Grammy Award-winning artist’s close bind with his mother has been apparent throughout his profession, as he invariably conveyed his profound admiration for her.

One can only infer what he is going through emotionally at this point with the report of his mother’s demise.
