Prominent Ghanaian entertainer, OJ Blaq passed away at the age of 40.
This awful incident occurred on, August 17, 2023.
The entire entertainment space and the Empowerment Worship Center, where he worked as a junior clergy, confirmed the unfortunate news.
The cause of the demise has not been formally substantiated, but the rapper had been battling kidney illness for several years.
Back in 2021, OJ Blaq was diagnosed with this ailment and had to get dialysis treatment.
Opening on how he got to know about his kidney failure, OJ Blaq recollected: โI had an accident on a motorbike. After that, I started having swells on my feet and I thought it was from the accident, which some doctors told me they were just infections from my accident.โ
โI attributed all the kidney symptoms to the motor accident I had. I was later diagnosed with kidney failure and put on dialysis when I expressed intense fatigue,โ OJ Blaq summed up.
Even though he appeared to recover and was active again, he lost a lot of weight, which bothered many loved ones.

His inaugural project, “The Blaq Mixtape,” debuted in 2006, propelling him into the spotlight. Over the years, he proceeded to gift the world with a string of singles, with his chart-topping tune “Chalewote” garnering substantial honour.
