Rolling Stone Captures Amaarae’s ‘Fountain Baby’ Album No.2 In 2023 Best Albums Out So Far

Ghanaian-American vocalist, Amaaraeโ€™s new album โ€˜Fountain Babyโ€™ has been added to the American publication Rolling Stoneโ€™s best album of 2023 list.

The album, since its release, has been applauded by eminent publications such as NPR, The New Yorker, Billboard, and Elle for her distinctive fusion of genres, blending experimental pop with customary Afrobeats, situating her as one of the premier artists in the pop arena.
Rolling Stone also honoured her for the same writing, โ€œAmaarae has been wild and thorough since her excellent 2020 breakthrough, The Angel You Donโ€™t Know, featuring the luxurious and lusty โ€œSad Gurlz Love Money,โ€ which quickly went viral and attracted a remix with the similarly decadent Kali Uchis.โ€

โ€œOn Fountain Baby, Amaarae doubles down on the thrill and amps up the danger, pulling influences from Afro rhythms, Asian standards, and punk-rock rage for a brooding adventure through her world.โ€

Following the release of the album, the vocalist/songsmith has been invited to perform songs off the album for the beloved NPR Tiny Desk series, with the performance scheduled for release later in June.

In the meantime, building upon her enormous conquest, Amaaraeโ€™s viral hit โ€œSad Girlz Luv Moneyโ€ featuring Kali Uchis has recently achieved platinum certification.

The song has garnered over surprising 379 million global digital media platforms streams, reached notable chart positions on the Billboard Hot 100, and dominated TikTok as the #1 song for multiple weeks.

This tremendous accomplishment punctuates Amaaraeโ€™s unequivocal effect on the music industry and cements her echelon as a forerunner.
