Among the prominent complexions that graced the ceremony were Nigerian Grammy award-winning musician Burna Boy, Barbadian pop superstar Rihanna, fast-rising Nigerian vocalist Tems, and American Grammy award-winning rapper Cardi B in some of the most eyeful and spectacular looks of the night.
This yearโs Met Gala, which applauds the memorable heritage of the late Karl Lagerfeld, was a sheer fashion gig. The occasion was chaired by Ghanaian British actress, Michaela Coel, Dua Lipa, Penelope Cruz and sports icon, Roger Federer.
On a night packed with flamboyance and glamour, the appearance of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky stole the limelight.

Cohort Nigerian silky vocalist, Tems who made headlines for her cloud-like outfit that blocked audiences at the Oscars in March made her Met Gala debut custom design by Rober Wun, a British designer known for his avant-garde and futuristic designs.

The ensemble was completed with elegant elbow-length gloves, adding a touch of sophistication to her overall appearance.
Rapper Cardi B, who is no foreigner to making a statement on the Met Gala red carpet, turned heads in not one but two ensembles. First, the 30-year-old entertainer veered around heads in a collared black and white ball gown by Chenpeng Studio that was competently tailored to clasp her curves.
The outstanding apparel featured a black silk tie that added an element of refinement to her look.
To highlight her waist, a cross-stitched bodice that was intricately bejewelled with pearls was paired with a stunning skirt covered in Chanelโs signature camelia flowers.
The rapper, who always pays attention to detail, completed her look with a black velvet headband and black opera-style gloves.
The addition of the accessories perfectly complemented her dress and added a touch of elegance to her overall impression.
Heretofore making her appearance at the highly-expected MET Gala 2023, Cardi B made an incredible fashion statement in a pink custom gown by Miss Sohee. The โI Like Itโ rapper left her hotel festoon in a fitted bodice gown adorned with rhinestones, while the tulle backing perfectly complemented her skin tone.
Her ensemble was in line with this yearโs theme, โKarl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty,โ which paid homage to the late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld. This yearโs theme inspired the biggest names in fashion to bring their best looks to the red carpet, and the rapperโs outfit was no exception.
The night also witnessed some prominent fashion moments from other A-listers, comprising super versatile entertainer Idris Elba and his spouse Sabrina Dhwore, Kim Kardashian, JLO, Teyana Taylor and Viola Davis.
The theme was reflected in the nightโs fashion choices, with many attendees going for black and white ensembles, oversized bows, and dramatic headpieces.
